Through partnerships with various community businesses, students are allowed the opportunity to gain needed work skills in a variety of occupational settings. A less supported work environment allows students to practice more indepedent work skills in areas such as data entry, early childhood education, library assistant, warehouse attendant, maintenance, and many others. Students participating in the S.W.E.P. program use between two and four hours of their regulalry scheduled school day to work on site with a community business partner. Weekly or bi weekly support through job coaching, skill analysis and/or problem solving as well as trageted job skills development is given to the student via on site visits by a certfied special education instructor/job coach. Eligible students earn credit toward graduation.
