What Tutors Are Saying After several years as a READ tutor, I know that it is about much more than earning community service hours- I get to change lives. At the end of each day I've received the greatest reward of all, because I get to see the kids smile. I work several jobs much closer to home, but I continue to tutor because the hug or high-five I receive from the students I work with is worth more than any paycheck. The moment one of my students, who was once struggling, unmotivated, or frustrated, can say, "I did it!" is truly priceless and extremely rewarding. Being a READ tutor has changed my life, and has given me the opportunity to serve as a positive role model in the community. READ has also taught me leadership, dedication, responsibility, the value of an education, and great social skills.
